Individual and Couples Therapy

Sarah Barboza, LCSW: Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Orinda, and East Bay area

Has life changed recently?

Some changes we face can destabilize our sense of self and get in the way of living the way we want to live, bringing us to moments of asking ourselves-

"How did I get here?"

Sometimes we aren't sure why we don't feel like ourselves.

Other times, we can identify what doesn't feel right -

- job stress and burnout

- relationship patterns and boundaries

- role shifts within your family

- experiencing a loss

- facing a new medical diagnosis

- supporting a loved one with their medical condition

Or maybe the tension is in your relationship...

Are you and your partner feeling stuck or at a standstill in your relationship?

You can remember what things were like when you first met and maybe today you are wondering “how did we get here?”

Perhaps you are feeling disconnected, which is easy in a world today that is so busy with work, raising children, taking classes, and tending to day-to-day obligations.

Perhaps you are working to find new ways of talking about the same challenging topics that bring up so much tension.

Perhaps things have changed since having children, or having a parent move in with you

Perhaps you are working toward healing from a loss of trust because of something that happened.

I work with couples who are looking to find new ways to navigate differences and support them with finding new ways to connect and move forward.
